Another excellent hybrid was released for commercial cultivation during this year. This hybrid is named as Kesav and was tested extensively with the code VABCH-256. This is an early hybrid with 140-150 days duration. Good number of sympodial branches with short internodal distance and chain bearing habit is well appreciated by the farmers. Big boll (5.5 – 6.0 g) with good opening. Tolerant to sucking pests due to presence of hairyness on leaves. This hybrid has a fibre length of 32mm with a strength of 24 g/tex.

MAIZE
OM-7676
Duration of 105-110 days in kharif and 115-120 days in rabi season has an attractive orange colour kernel that fetches premium price in the market. This hybrid has yield potential of 28-32 quintals per acre. Under good management while 24-27 quintals per acre is expected under normal situation.
OM-7999
Duration of 110-120 days in kharif and 120-125 days in rabi season. Erect plant with erect leaves and suitable for high density planting, strong culm, uniform cobs with orange colour kernels and excellent tip filling. Shelling percentage ranges from 80-85%. Stay green character upto maturity.
PADDY
AMAR-88
Early duration super fine variety suitable for both kharif and rabi seasons, tolerant to blast with high head rice recovery. Yield – 7.5 t/ha. Short slender grain with L/B ratio of 3.3-3.4.
OM-1515
Medium duration variety suitable for kharif season only, short slender grain with L/B ratio of 3.40-3.45, good cooking quality and yields about 6 t/ha.
AMAR-99
Early variety with 120 days duration suitable for both kharif and rabi seasons, tolerant to blast and BPH, long slender grain with L/B ratio of 3.25-3.40. Yield – 7.5 -8.0 t/ha.
